The 2011 growing season, despite a brush by hurricane Irene, turned out very well and brought forth clean and elegant wines with good structure. The warm season helped to lower acid levels and bring in nice fruit flavors.

The West side of Block 2 and 3 was chosen for this special Rose as it is situated on the lightest soil of the 3 Gramercy blocks. The light soil combined with the more shaded location on the West side is perfect to make a special Rose.

The fruit was carefully hand harvested on October 6th 2011.

The crop level was low and with no maceration, the grapes were gently pressed and the juice was well settled at 50˚ Fahrenheit. After a clean racking of the lees followed a cool fermentation at a low temperature of 66° Fahrenheit. Aged in stainless steel, malolactic fermentation was strictly avoided to keep the lively acidity and pure fruit characters.

The wine has a Residual Sugar of 2gr/Liter.

70 cases were bottled on the 27^th of April 2012.
